Software

Here is the software and web sites that I use with my music teaching and in live performance.

Musescore

Musescore is a FREE notation software that is available on both Windows and Mac. I used to use Sibelius, but this became very costly as my version became outdated. I moved to Musescore and have not looked back. I have been using it with my students for a number of years now. Try it out for yourself.

Auralia and Musition

Auralia and Musition is a cloud based software for music theroy and aural training.  Software is installed for both programs and must be conected to the internet to run.  Web access is also avalible auralia.cloud/login .

BandLab for Education

Bandlab is a web based DAW for creating and recording your music.

It comes in two versions. Bandlab and the education version edu.bandlab.

Both are great platforms to create inspiring music.

Bandlab is linked to all the social media platforms where edu.bandlab is for education and is not linked to the social media platforms. This makes it a safer environment for students while learning about music creation.

See my videos on how to use the different aspects of edu.bandlab.

Mainstage Software

MainStage is a program in the Mac App Store. This program is what many people use as the foundation of their rig. I currently use it mainly for keyboard and vocals but I am working on my guitar, bass and drums set ups with this program.

The program is great for customising how you view the screen, map the controls as well as how the sounds can be manipulated during a live performance.

SundaySounds

SundaySounds design templates to use with MainStage and Ableton Live. I use the Keyboard one weekly and I am refining my use of the Guitar and Bass version.

Alicia's Keys Plugin

Native Instruments produce plugin's to use with many programs like MainStage. This plugin has a great sound and works well layered with the SundaySounds sounds.

LoopBack

Loopback is a program used to enable to you move audio from one computer program to another. This is a fantastic program and well worth the money. Once you work out how to route the audio, you can save the settings. This enables you to switch on or off the setting when ever you need it. When doing my Youtube videos I often route my Mainstage audio to Streamlabs.

Streamlabs

Streamlabs is a live streaming software that gives you flexibility in how you can change screens, webcams or just use special effects to make your videos look great. OBS is another version of this same. Most of my youtube videos are now created with Streamlabs.
